Monohanako
A 14th generation potter, Monohanako designer Hanako Nakazato’s technique and philosophy are rooted in the ceramic traditions of the ancient trading port of Karatsu, Japan, but call on shapes and surfaces influenced by her many years spent living in the West. Her aim: To bring out the natural beauty in clay through an unplanned, “go with the flow” throwing process. Her work is carried in many galleries and shops though out Japan and the U.S. and she divides her time between studios in Japan and Maine. Read more on the Dossier.
